Puf de trapillo pel menjador / XXL crochet pouf for our living room

Com us comentava en l'entrada dels cistells de trapillo que vaig fer per en Guim, ja fa un temps que tenia entre mans fer un puf, també de trapillo, pel menjador...

I ja està... per fi!!!

La veritat és que m'ha donat una mica de guerra. No és que el patró sigui difícil... no ho és gens! Però el fet que el trapillo no sigui un material totalment homogeni té els seus inconvenients. En aquest cas m'he trobat amb alguna bobina on el trapillo era significativament més ample que a les altres, el que ha fet que la mida dels punts varïi i m'ha obligat a fer algun ajust en el nombre de punts perquè no em quedés el puf deformat...

Ah! I per tal què el puf tingués l'alçada ideal per recolzar els peus per fer una bona migdiada, l'he posat a sobre d'un seient de fibra de plataner (és l'ALSEDA d'Ikea!).

Aquí teniu el patró!!

Materials:

• Trapillo (4 bobines en total, del mateix color o en colors coordinats al vostre gust)
• Coixí pel farciment del puf
• Ganxet de 12 mm
• Agulla de tapisser per rematar

Abreviatures:

• cd - cadeneta
• pr - punt ras
• pb - punt baix
• pa - punt alt
• j2pb - disminució: tanqueu junts dos punts baixos

Patró:

• Volta 1: Amb el color gris, feu un anell màgic amb 6 pb, tanqueu la volta amb un pr al primer pb, 1 cd
• Volta 2: 2 pb a cada punt, tanqueu, 1 cd (12)
• Volta 3: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb al següent punt* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (18)
• Volta 4: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 2 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (24)
• Volta 5: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 3 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (30)
• Volta 6: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 4 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (36)
• Volta 7: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 5 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (42)
• Volta 8: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 6 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (48)
• Volta 9: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 7 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (54)
• Volta 10: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 8 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (60)
• Volta 11: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 9 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (66)
• Volta 12: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 10 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (72)
• Volta 13: *2 pb al primer punt, 1 pb a cadascun dels 11 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 2 cd (78). Amb això hauríeu d'haver cobert la cara superior del puf (feu alguna volta més, seguint la mateixa successió d'augments, si el cercle de ganxet encara no cobreix el puf o atureu-vos alguna volta abans si el vostre puf és més petit).
• Volta 14: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pa a cada punt, tanqueu, 1 cd (78)
• Volta 15: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pb a cada punt, tanqueu, 2 cd (78)
• Volta 16: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pa a cada punt, tanqueu, 2 cd (78). Canvieu al color salmó.
• Volta 17: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pa a cada punt, tanqueu, 1 cd (78)
• Volta 18: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pb a cada punt, tanqueu, 2 cd (78)
• Volta 19: Treballant només sobre el llaç posterior, feu 1 pa a cada punt, tanqueu, 1 cd (78)
• Volta 20: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 11 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (72)
• Volta 21: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 10 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (66)
• Volta 22: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 9 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (60)
• Volta 23: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 8 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (54)
• Volta 24: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 7 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu, 1 cd (48)
• Volta 25: *j2pb, 1 pb a cadascun dels 6 punts següents* repetiu fins al final de la volta, tanqueu i remateu (42). Amb això no cobrireu completament el cul del puf, però d'aquesta manera el podreu desenfundar sempre que vulgueu per rentar-lo, etc... Si voleu cobrir-lo del tot, probablement necessitareu una bobina addicional de trapillo.

As I told you in the post about those XXL crochet baskets, I've been eager to make a pouf for our living room for quite a long time...

And, finally, I did it!!!

Truth to be told, it hasn't been an easy duty. The pattern is very simple, but the recycled material was anything but homogeneous... The yarn was thicker in some parts and thinner in others, which made the gauge change along the work... So I had to make some adjustments in the number of stitches in some rounds to avoid deformations in the pouf.

And I matched the pouf with an Ikea ALSEDA seat to get the right height!

Here you have the pattern!!

Materials:

• XXL yarn (same or different colors, as you like)
• Round pillow (pouf filling)
• 12 mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain stitch
• sl - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• sc2tog - single crochet two together decrease

Pattern:

• Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc inside ring, join to 1st sc with a sl, chain one
• Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch, join, chain one (12)
• Round 3: *2 sc, sc in next stitch, repeat from * around, join to 1st sc, chain one (18)
• Round 4: *2 sc, sc in next 2 stitches, repeat from * around, join to 1st sc, chain one (24)
• Round 5: *2 sc, sc in next 3 stitches, repeat from * around, join to 1st sc, chain one (30)
• Round 6: *2 sc, sc in next 4 stitches, repeat from * around, join to 1st sc, chain one (36)
• Round 7: *2 sc, sc in next 5 stitches, repeat from * around, join to 1st sc, chain one (42)

Pa de poma / Apple bread

Fa un parell de setmanes van venir uns amics a berenar i, com que tenia a casa unes quantes pomes golden a la nevera, vaig pensar en fer quelcom una mica diferent del pa de plàtan al que recorro generalment.

Després d'una cerca ràpida per internet vaig decidir-me per la recepta que trobareu aquí. És molt senzilla i el pa va quedar molt bo, però vaig trobar que la quantitat de poma era una mica exagerada i que el pa va pujar poc. Així que aquesta setmana l'he tornat a provar canviant una mica les proporcions dels ingredients.

El resultat ens ha agradat moltíssim (de fet hi ha hagut discussió sobre si no és fins i tot millor que el pa de plàtan!!!), així que aquí en teniu les fotos i la recepta.

Ingredients:

• 4 pomes petites (o dues de grans)
• 15 cl d'oli d'oliva
• 150 g de sucre morè
• 3 ous
• 275 g de farina "bizcochona"
• 1/2 culleradeta de canyella
• 1/2 culleradeta de barreja d'espècies (clau, gingebre, nou moscada i canyella)

Preparació:

1. Barregeu l'oli, el sucre i els ous amb una cullera de fusta, fins que quedin ben integrats.
2. Afegiu la farina i les espècies i mescleu bé.
3. Peleu les pomes, ratlleu-les amb un rallador gruixut i afegiu-les a la massa.
4. Aboqueu la massa en un motllo tipus plum-cake i poseu-lo al forn (de dalt i de baix) a 180ºC durant uns 50 minuts (fins que en punxar-lo amb un escuradents aquest surti net).

A couple of weeks ago, some friends came to tea time and, as I had some apples in the fridge, I decided to make something a bit different from our usual banana bread.

After a quick search, I chose the apple bread recipe you'll find here. It's very simple and tasty, but I find there was too much apple in it. So I have repeated the bread once again, but changing the amount of several ingredients.

This time we've loved the bread resulting (actually as much or even more than the banana bread!!!).

Ingredients:

• 4 small apples (or 2 big ones)
• 3/4 cup vegetable oil
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 3 eggs
• 2 cups self raising flour
• 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp mixed spices (clove, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon)

Instructions:

1. Mix the oil, sugar and eggs and combine well.
2. Add the self raising flour and the spices and mix well.
3. Peel the apples, grate them coarsely and add to the batter.
4. Pour the mixture into a loaf tin and bake in the oven at 180ºC (350F) for around 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Bambes de ganxet pel Pau / Crochet high tops for Pau

Ja torno a estar aquí!!! Us he de confessar que la majoria d'entrades que he publicat des del 16 de febrer cap aquí ja les tenia preparades amb antelació, perquè ja m'imaginava que amb el naixement del nostre petit em seria difícil mantenir el ritme... La questió és que ja he esgotat les meves "reserves", així que és altament probable que les meves aparicions pel bloc siguin una mica irregulars durant un temps...

Però els darrers dies he pogut esgarrapar alguna estoneta per recuperar el ganxet (com el trobava a faltar!!) i fer les bambes que vaig veure fa temps en aquest número de la versió digital de Mollie Makes. Si no coneixeu aquesta revista britànica, val molt la pena... jo estic encatada amb la suscripció que em van regalar pel meu aniversari!!!! :)

I aquí teniu la versió que he fet per en Pau, el fill d'uns amics que també ha nascut fa poquetes setmanes. Què us semblen???

I'm back!!! I must confess almost all the posts I've published from February, the 16th were prepared before that day... I guessed the arrival of our first son would make it difficult to keep the blog going regularly, and I was right! LOL

The thing is that I've run out of "pre-prepared" posts, so I'll be publishing at a slower pace for a while from now on...

But I've found some time lately to grab again my hook to make a pair of high tops I saw some time ago in Mollie Makes. I love this magazine and the subscription I've received as a present for my birthday!!

Here you have the version I've made for a friends' son, Pau, who was born a few weeks ago. Do you like them??

Aquesta setmana tenim un munt de coses per celebrar...

Avui en Guim fa un mes i no volia deixar passar el dia sense donar les gràcies a tots els que ens heu fet arribar les vostres felicitacions!!! Tenia intenció de penjar fotos dels regalets que li heu fet, però la veritat és que són tants que encara no he pogut fer fotos de tots (no sé que passa que darrerament em falten mans! XD) i, de fet, el més important és que li han agradat moltíssim i que demostren que tenim els millors familiars, amics i companys de feina... Moltes gràcies a tots!!!!

Per una altra banda, dilluns passat va fer un any que vaig publicar la primera entrada en aquest blog... un any ja!!! Ostres... m'ha passat volant!!! Des del principi que això del blog m'ho vaig plantejar com un simple entreteniment, una manera de combinar algunes de les coses que més m'agrada fer: les manualitats (sobretot el ganxet i la cuina), la fotografia i practicar l'anglès. Però he de reconèixer que no m'imaginava que esperaria amb tantes ganes aquesta cita setmanal. I, a més, ha estat una sorpresa d'allò més inesperada rebre gairebé 8.000 visites en aquest temps...

8.000 gràcies a vosaltres que us heu aturat a passar una estoneta per aquí!!!

This week we have a lot of things to celebrate...

Today it's been a month since my baby boy was born, and I couldn't miss the chance to thank everybody who has sent us their congratulations!!!! I had in mind to post pictures of all the presents we've received, but they're so many that I still haven't got the time to shoot all of them! And, actually, the most important is that he's loving all of them and that they demonstrate we're so lucky to have the best family, friends and colleagues... Thank you very much!!!!

On the other hand, last Monday it was one year since I first posted in this blog... One year already!!! From the very beginning I planned this blog to be a pure and simple entertainment, a way to combine some of the things that I enjoy the most: crocheting and cooking, fotography and improving my English skills. But I must admit I had no idea I was going to enjoy this weekly meeting as much as I do. And, on top of that, reaching almost 8.000 visits... I have no words...

Thank you very much to all of you who have spent your time here!!!

 

Mona valenciana / Valencian Easter's bread

Una de les coses que més recordo de quan anavem al poble del meu pare, que és valencià, és la mona que preparen bàsicament per Pasqua... De fet, va ser tot un descobriment assabentar-me que en un forn de pa de Sabadell en preparen una versió gairebé idèntica sota el nom de pa cremat. Fins i tot el meu pare reconeix la semblança entre tots dos!!!

Ara... encara ha estat millor descobriment trobar per casualitat el blog Decogalletas, farcit de receptes valencianes tradicionals, inclosa la mona!!!!

Així que, com us podeu imaginar, no he pogut resistir la temptació de fer-la! Ara, us he de confessar que m'han fet falta dos intents per assolir l'èxit... El primer cop ho vaig provar amb llevat liofilitzat del que faig servir per fer pa amb la panificadora, però suposo que devia calcular malament en convertir el pes de llevat fresc a sec, perquè la massa gairebé no va pujar després de gairebé 5 hores de repós... ejem...

O sigui que vaig anar corrents al súper a buscar llevat fresc (em va deixar parada la quantitat que fa falta!!) i m'hi vaig tornar a posar... però amb fent una mica de "trampa" per assegurar-me el tret... Per a la barreja dels ingredients i el llevat de la massa vaig usar el programa d'amassat i llevat de la meva panificadora! La massa va pujar extraordinàriament i en menys de la meitat de temps ja la tenia a punt per fornejar!!

La panificadora és una d'aquestes bàsiques comprada al Lidl després de molt donar-li voltes (sobretot per l'espai que ocupa a la cuina!), i us he de dir que n'estic encantada!

Però bé, tornant a la mona, per fornejar-les vaig dividir la massa en tres parts... dues es van quedar a casa i la tercera la vaig portar a un berenar... i totes tres van desaparèixer en un moment!! La veritat és que aquesta mona fa un esmorzar o berenar espectacular acompanyada amb un cafè amb llet o una tassa de xocolata!! :)

Bé, a part de la "trampa" d'usar la panificadora, he seguit fil per randa les instruccions de la recepta original, que no us transcric perquè la trobareu en castellà aquí. Només us he d'advertir que jo vaig espolvorar el sucre abans d'enfornar-les i que vaig haver d'escurçar el temps de fornejat a uns 20 minuts, enlloc de 35, per a què no es cremessin!

One of my most vivid childhood memories is the bread we ate during Easter in my father's hometown... Actually, it filled me with joy to find out that a bakery in the town where we live (almost 500 km apart) prepares this same kind of bread (although under a different name)!

But... it's been even better to find the original recipe of this kind of bread in the blog Decogalletas!!

As you may imagine, I ran to prepare a batch! But, the truth to be told, I needed two attempts to reach a success... For the first batch I used the active dry yeast I use to make bread with my bread making machine, but I did something wrong... because the dough failed to rise as expected, even after 5 hours... ejem...

So I ran to buy fresh yeast (I'm still astonished by the amount needed...) and tried it again... but with a little "trick"... To mix the ingredients and for the rising of the dough, I used my bread maker! The dough rose extraordinarily in half the time and I got enough to bake 3 breads!!

This bread is excellent as a breakfast or for tea-time, with some coffee or hot chocolate... You must try it!!

Ingredients:

• 500 g bread flour
• 125 g sugar
• 125 g fresh yeast
• 1 dl olive oil
• 3 eggs + 1 egg white

Instructions:

1. Mix all the ingredients (but the spare egg white) in a bowl, cover it with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place for about 4 hours... Or, like me, let your bread maker do the mixing and rising job for you!! LOL
2. Make 3 or 4 portions from your dough. Shape a ball with each portion and let rise again for an hour.
3. Make a cross cut with a knife on top of each bread. Beat the spare egg white until stiff and put some of it in top of each bread.
4. Spread some sugar over each bread and bake at 180ºC (350 F) for about 20 minutes.

 

Mirall DIY pel rebedor / DIY mirror for the entryway

I aquí teniu un altre dels projectes que tenia a mitges des de fa la tiiiiira... De fet, ja us vaig parlar del tema en el post d'aquests cistells de ganxet fa gairebé un any!!!

Em passa sovint, que enceto un munt de coses i després em costa rematar... què hi farem!! :P

La qüestió és que ja fa temps que volia posar un mirall al nostre rebedor i alhora trobar alguna solució per tenir a mà les claus i altres coses de l'estil, però que ocupes molt poc espai perquè el nostre rebedor és molt mini...

Per si voleu fer-ne un de semblant, aquí us deixo els materials i procediment que hem seguit...

Materials:

• Un mirall (en el nostre cas de 60x75cm) i els seus suports, nosaltres el vam comprar al Leroy Merlin
• Un llistó de fusta d'abet sense tractar, comprat al mateix lloc i de, com a mínim 1,5m de llargada
• Betum de Judea
• 3 penjadors, nosaltres els vam comprar al Tiger
• 3 cistells com els que us explicava aquí
• Serra, trepant, paper de vidre i cola per enganxar els llistons al mirall

Procediment:

1. Talleu dos trossos de llistó de 75 cm de llargada.
2. Poliu tots els costats dels llistons amb paper de vidre.
3. Tenyiu els llistons amb betum de Judea (diluït en aiguarràs), per a què agafin un aspecte de fusta envellida.
4. Cargoleu els 3 penjadors en un dels llistons.
5. Pengeu el mirall i enganxeu els llistons a la part superior i inferior, de manera que els suports del mirall quedin amagats a sota (jo vaig haver de fer unes mossegades a la part posterior dels llistons, perquè els nostres suports sobresortien una mica del mirall).
6. Espereu el temps d'assecatge indicat per la cola i ja podeu penjar els cistells als penjadors i començar a fer servir el vostre mirall!!

Consti que en aquest projecte vaig tenir la inestimable col·laboració de la meva parella... jo amb la serra i el trepant sóc un zero a l'esquerra!! :P

And here you have another project I've been postponing for months... Actually, I already told you about it in this post about my twine crochet baskets almost one year ago!!!

It happens to me all the time... I start a dozen different things at the same time and then I seem unable to finish any of them... LOL!!

The thing is that I wanted a mirror for our entryway and some solution to store our keys and other little things, but taking into account the tiny size of our entryway...

Just in case you would like to make something similar, here you have the materials we used and how we proceeded.

Materials:

• A mirror (ours is 60 x 75 cm) and its supporting elements
• An untreated fir wood strip, at least 1,5 m long
• Wood stain
• 3 hangers
• 3 crochet baskets as the ones I showed you here
• A saw, a drill, sandpaper and glue

Instructions:

1. Cut two pieces 75 cm long from the wood strip.
2. Sand all the surfaces of the wood pieces until you get a smooth finish.
3. Stain the two pieces of wood.
4. Fix the 3 hangers in one of the stained pieces of wood.
5. Hang the mirror in the desired place and glue the two pieces of wood so the supporting elements of the mirror remain hidden beneath the wood strips.
6. Wait until the glue hardens, and you're ready to hang the crochet baskets and start using your mirror!!

I must say I had some (much!) help of my partner in this project... because I seem to be useless when it comes to using a saw or a drill!! LOL

Sonall de la granota Gustau / Kermit the frog crochet rattle

La matinada de diumenge passat finalment va nèixer el nostre fill Guim!!! El part va ser llarg i "durillo", però ara ja som tots a casa!! I aquí teniu la primera joguina de ganxet que li he fet!!

Recordeu el post on us ensenyava el sonall del Monstre de les galetes? En aquest post ja us comentava que tenia intenció de fer-ne un altre per en Guim, però amb els colors de la granota Gustau.

Doncs ja l'he enllestit i aquí en teniu els resultats:

El patró és bàsicament el mateix que en l'anterior post, motiu pel qual tampoc el puc reproduir... però segur que el podeu deduir fàcilment!!

De fet... m'estic plantejant fer-ne un altre, però amb la forma d'en Mic... què us semblaria???

Finally, last Sunday our first son Guim was born. It was quite a long and hard delivery, but we're all fine at home now!! And here you have the first crocheted toy I've made for him!!

Do you remember the post where I showed you the crocheted Cookie Monster rattle? In that post I already told you I was planning to make another one, but with Kermit the frog colors for our baby boy.

Well... here you have it:

I used basically the same pattern than in the previous post and, therefore, I can't share it with you... but sure you'll be able to deduct it without major problems!!
